*SmartControl
If you are looking to start/stop the camera using the SmartControl features of the Atomos firmware you will need to ensure:
1. The camera supports embedded timecode over HDMI or HD-SDI
2. Has the HDMI/SDI embedded flags to use the camera trigger.
3. Setup on the Atomos Recorder is completed according to our guide
Currently we support this in certain Sony and Canon cameras.
For LANC trigger we only support the Sony/Canon protocol, please follow our guide for setup
Please note the Ninja-2 does not have LANC input/output connections
Other camera HDMI inputs
Atomos Ninja-2 recorders will work with most professional camera ranges with clean HDMI output (this means no viewfinder information embedded).
If the camera can only output 1080 50/60p this will not be supported as this is outside the range of input the Ninja-2 can support.
PC/MAC outputs can be supported on the latest firmware but will vary depending on the output setup by the graphics card.
We currently support RGB value 16-235
Atomos Samurai recorder range will work with most professional camera ranges and other equipment such as mixers, OB trucks, servers with HD-SDI and SD-SDI connectivity.
If the camera can only output 1080 50/60p (3G-SDI) this will not be supported as this is outside the range of input the Samurai can support.
Please also check the Atomos knowledge Base for any specific camera setup
